Climate Change: 57,491,000 sq miles on Earth. 6 billion people live on Earth. Rain fall will change and/or severe Carbon dioxide emissions. Ice core is a mixture of ice & snow. Carbon Dioxide, gas, dust! Animal Migration- Animals are affected because of their migration to different places. Some birds are laying their eggs 9 days early. (N. American Tree Swallows). 2005 was the hottest recorded year in the past centuries. Humans: poor countries, less resources, 10% of world population. Hurricanes: 2008 was a very hot year. Increases in global warming according to scientists come from greenhouse gases. Hurricane Ike started as a category 2 storm. Which left most of Houston and surroundings with no power. Nucleus Fission: binding energy= total energy loss.

Climate, Animal migration:
Animals migrate north.
Birds are laying eggs earlier.
Plants are booming earlier.
We as humans are also affected by this change.
10% of the population live in sea-lever areas, which those are more likely to be affected.
The poor community is the most affected.

*57 million squared miles of land on earth
All this squared miles are not habited by human beings but they are populated by many living things. As population and land usage change it also manipulates rain fall as the earth climate gets hotter/warmer the diversity for rain fall that year increases and sea levels would definitely always change.
*Due to the increase of green house gas emissions it has resulted in warmer climate weather. (Greater amount of hurricanes this year = due to higher green house gases being the fuels source for the development of hurricanes.)

Past Climates Reconstructed from Ice Cores

What is an Ice Core? An Ice core is a core sample from snow and ice over many years that have been crystallized. By looking at ice core samples, scientists can determine how much it snowed that year, how much wind was blowing, if there was an ice age? Inside the ice core, it consists of meteorites, carbon dioxide, and methane.

A controversial topic is global warming. During the past few years, many scientist have proven that it does exist. The effects of climate change is the way that animals migrate. Animals are heading north for heat. Another source of evidence is that birds and animals are developing before usual. 20% of all animals will die out because they can not adjust. Beings in poor countries will suffer from climate change the most because disease like malaria will spread. Due to ice caps melting, flooding will occur. 10% of the world is 30 feet below sea level.

Climate change: hurricane frequency and global warming

Global warming is the main cause of hurricane formation. This year (2008) was supposed to have the greatest amount of hurricanes, but it just brought a few of them which were enough to make destruction in several parts of the world including the United States that was hit by Hurricane Ike.

Martin Puente said...

climate change: Hurricane frequency and global warming. As ya'll now know green house gases produces global warming and global warming causes hurricanes. Green house gas stay in earth and dont go away, and thats the reaon why we are getting global warming. and loosing lots of animals. And hurricanes do gain more force with global warming.

climate change-Hurricane frequency and global warming

Durning warm years there is higher chance of hurricans.Caused by man made natural gas.An example would be hurricane IkE which accured during a hot year.

AGarcia91 said...

Hurricane frequency and global warming
-warmer years produce more hurricanes
-carbon dioxide is a type of greenhouse gas which traps heat
-global warming are the cause of many hurricanes

Stephanie Canchola said...

Climate change
-Hurricane frequency and global warming
* Warm weather produces hurricanes
* Global warming happens because
of green house gas
*With all the heat around the earth, the atmosphere is eventually warmed and heated
* Hurricane damage will increase because of green house gas

Impacts of climate change -beyond sea level changes.

-Global warming impacts animals as well as humans
-Animal migration disruption
-Birds laying their eggs sooner,i.e., American Tree Swallow
-Plants are booming earlier

Problem:
-If animals cannot adapt to the changes of global warming more than 20% of the worlds animal population will perish.

Climate Change
Past climates reconstructed from ice cores.

What is an ice-core?
Ice core is a core sample from accumulation of snow and ice over many years that have been crystallized. The composition of these ice cores provide a picture of the climate at the time.

climate change affects animal migration
-change in temp.
-they will have to adopt
-this changes affect the blooming of flowers and the birds lay eggs sooner.

victoria_herrera said...

-Green house gas traps heat that travels
-the more heat that becomes trapped, results into a hotter climate
-Examples include the hurricanes.
-2005 was the hottest year
-if our weather continues to have a high heat we will continue to have massive hurricanes
-2008 was the year for most hurricanes
-global warming is made by all of the severe changes in our climate

Northern Hemisphere is mostly affected than the South hemisphere when it comes to weather. An Ice core is a core sample from the accumulation of snow and ice over many years. We know that global warming is true is that animals are going up north where it was once cold but now hott. Hurricanes are now stronger than before because the waters are now warmer. 10% of the world's populaiton live 30 ft below sea level thats a lot of people that are going to be affected by a hurricane.

Hurricane Frequancy and Global Warming

In the year 2008 it was predicted to have the greatest amount of hurricane but there wasent instead they were much stronger. Global Warming is the main cause of hurricane formation.

Causes of past climate change-

* global warming
*U.S. leading in CO2
*Sea levels rising
* temperatures rising

An Dang said...

In the past 1000 years, the climate did not change much but in the past 140, the climate have change rapidly.
The Kneeling curve by Dr. Charles David Kneeling. The Kneeling Curve has the measurement of the rise of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere since 1958. To measure Carbon Dioxide, we use the Kneeling Curve.

Climate changes cause bird to lay eggs earlier than usual and that can lead to dead to all the baby bird. Global Warming: Hurricane.

Hurrican frequency and global warming:
**hurricane frequency is increasing accounting on our global warming status.
**hurrincanes are causing amounts of damage and this will continue due to global warming.

Hurricanes:
- Warm Years= Intense hurricanes
- Climate affected by greenhouse gases
- Carbon dioxide traps heat
- With heat trapped Earth is warmed

Hurrican Ike:
- Category 2
- Cause major destructions in Houston/Galveston Tx.

minerva said...

Effects of global warming:
-More intense hurricanes
-migration of many animals to places up North that used to be to cold
-drastic climate changes
Ex. Hurricane Ike, which started as an F2, destroyed most of Galveston and left the entire city of Houston powerless for 15 days

Hurricane Frequency

*Carbon dioxide attracts heat that will travel around the earth
*Global warming and hurricanes are logical

Gustavo Navarrete said...

cause of Climate change
-average temperature will increase several degrees
-In the past 140 years the temperature has increase outrageously

giselle said...

Causes- has been estimated that average temperature of the earth will increase.
Ice core composition
- carbon dioxide
- mathane
- dust can be found in the ice core.

hurrricane frquency
global warming respponsible for hurricanes because of IKE the theory is true man made greenhouse co2 traps heat and travels to earth atmosphere is warmed and heated hurricane IKE cat. 3 beacuse of global warming logical hurricanes increase bcuz of global warming temp. HOT!!!

joeperez said...

Climate change: Hurricanes are expected by meteorologist since Carbon Dioxcide is heating up the Earth and the oceans, creating more intense hurrincanes for us.

Ex.: Hurrincane Katrina, Louisiana & Hurricane Ike, Galveston & Houston. Global warming is clearly evident by our climate changes.

Climate Change.
- It is warming up the glaciers making them melt.
- Each year the gulf gets warmer and we have more chances of getting hurricanes.
- It is making animals migrate even further now because of it.
- In the last couple of years it has shown that during the years that the temperature has risen.

Climat change
Impacts of climat change
if the climate keeps chaging and global warming keeps happening we are going to be at a loss of animals plants ice glaciers and more. It will not only effect humans and thier world. It has been studied that since the climat change birds migrate and are born earlier than usual and the same for plants.

Impacts of Climate Change:

Some of the major effects on the climate include increased temperature, animal migration farther north, birds laying eggs earlier in the year and 2005 being the hottest year of the past century. The increased temperature has also caused diseases such as Malaria to have a farther reaching range. Also due to the melting of the polar ice caps flooding is inevitable and areas under sea level will become submerged.

Lien Quach said...

Impacts of climate change - beyond sea level changes

Due to the increase of temperature, animals now migrate farther north because places that used to be cold, are now warmer. Flowers now bloom earlier in the spring, meanwhile the birds lay eggs earlier in the year. If the animals do not learn to adapt, they will begin to become extinct. 2005 was the hottest year of the past century. Humans in poor countries must combat flooding, since 10% of the world is below sea level, and they must fight the spread of diseases.

Hurricane frequency and global warming
-global warming from CO2 build up
-heating up of oceans
-hurricanes expect to become more frequent
-hurricanes expected to strengthen
-2005 hottest year recored
-huge spike in CO2 from start of industrial revolution

angelgue said...

Global warming is causing stronger hurricanes due to the green house gasses that stay in Earth. These helps build up bigger hurricanes with stronger winds speed, that are more destructible like Hurricane Ike.

Jeff Crain said...

The climate has changed in the U.S. It's gettin hotter due to the gases being emmited into the air. It's noticeable that climate has changed, we see animals migrating earlier or later, trying to adapt, experiencing 2005 as a heat record year.

tiffany_hinson said...

during the last 140 years the temperature has completely inverted from postitive to negative after being negative for millions of years. these warmer years have produced more hurricanes. they also interfere with animal migration and animal births. female birds, for example, are laying their eggs days later and flowers are blooming earlier as well.

Alma Martinez said...

Hurricane frequency and global warming
